goHellgo: To Hell is an original title produced by ittenshi roku, a former member of AliceSoft, and developed by AizenProduction. Because several staff members previously worked on DoHna DoHna, the game drew significant attention from players and adult-game communities when it was first revealed at TGS 2023. Character design is handled by tetsubuta, the scenario is written by Momiage Lupin R, and the soundtrack is composed by Yuuki Neko. Publisher Entergram also took a major step by releasing an entirely original title for home consoles for the first time.
The story takes place in a chaotic, absurd, and darkly humorous “Hell World.” The protagonist, 8246 (Yatsushiro), is a demon whose job is to guide and “clean up” the dead, barely making a living through this work. His routine changes the day he meets Tomori, a young girl who has just fallen into Hell. According to Hell’s rules, Tomori should suffer torture, yet 8246 impulsively decides to “hire” her as a company employee in hopes of improving his impoverished life. This seemingly trivial act sets off a chain reaction that disrupts Hell’s order, authority structure, and even its very foundations. What starts as a small crack in the relationship between a penniless foreman and a lost soul gradually spirals into chaos, conflict, and revelations connected to the core secrets of Hell. Much like DoHna DoHna, the narrative mixes a colorful, playful tone with cruelty, bleakness, and occasional emotional heaviness beneath the surface.
The cast features distinctly eccentric characters whose personalities and speech patterns often carry a manga-like exaggeration. 8246, the protagonist, wields a kanabō and horn-shaped device, boasting the highest HP and strongest direct attacks. Though sloppy in daily life, he becomes highly dependable in combat. Tomori, the girl forced into employment, specializes in heat-element skills and full-screen attacks, remaining one of the most reliable damage dealers throughout the game. Ichinose, an elite member of Hell’s General Affairs Division and an old acquaintance of 8246, provides crucial full-screen attacks with ATK debuffs, making her indispensable in boss battles. The mysterious swordsman Iaidō focuses on self-enhancement and powerful slash-element strikes, while the flamboyant Hell Envoy acts as a controller using poison and various debuffs. MEヽzz, a medical-device-turned-robot, is the team’s only true healer. Kiriku, feared as a disaster-class being, possesses extremely high critical rates and technical stats, becoming a terrifying burst attacker. Rekka, a fortune-seeking wanderer, starts out with a special move that automatically applies a DEF debuff. Together, the cast reflects the series’ signature blend of dark humor, quirky personalities, and tactical variety.
Gameplay combines Hell management, soul processing, dungeon exploration, and turn-based RPG combat, carrying the design DNA of DoHna DoHna. The Hell Panorama serves as an overworld where players access 8246’s company, stores, dungeons, and—most importantly—the Soul Processing Facility. You can interact with one employee daily to improve their affection and combat strength. Inside the office, players manage save data, revenue, equipment, and soul assignments. The LP and LLv systems function similarly to the intimacy system in DoHna DoHna, though in a more streamlined format.
The Soul Processing system is one of the game’s most distinctive elements. Souls collected during dungeon “cleaning” can be sent into Hell to earn money. Each Hell type differs in base profit, element compatibility, soul-decay rate, and the chance of granting random additional abilities. Using Hell facilities also unlocks story events and resources, though its darker implications extend to the possibility of converting employees into souls, affecting both gameplay and narrative.
Dungeon exploration is tile-based, with each step potentially triggering battles, treasures, events, or buff/debuff tiles. Combat is turn-based and emphasizes speed, elemental advantage, and buff/debuff tactics. Winning within a set number of turns grants extra rewards, and having 8246 on the front line further increases LP gains.
The game is widely praised for its female characters, whose interactions, personality development, and unique Hell-related events maintain the charm reminiscent of DoHna DoHna despite stricter console content regulations. The opening video is particularly celebrated; its theme song, “劫獄行↓↓↓Narakham ket,” matches the game’s dark yet energetic tone, with bold visuals and striking colors that players regard as one of the title’s major highlights. The “Hell Dispatch Unique Events,” which trigger when sending certain characters to Hell, have received mixed opinions—some are heartbreaking, some satisfyingly punitive, while others feel emotionally heavy. However, the game is not without flaws. The UI of the Hell Panorama is frequently criticized for being unintuitive, making navigation inconvenient. Some icons also display incorrectly, and certain actions remain selectable even under invalid conditions, occasionally causing players to send nonexistent souls to Hell and triggering system errors. Additionally, soul management has a low margin of error, leading some players to feel overwhelmed by repetitive tasks.
