Among the many manga adaptations on the Famicom, this title stands out for its unique concept of “battling with knowledge and taste,” faithfully recreating the intense culinary rivalry between the protagonist Shirō Yamaoka and his father, Yūzan Kaibara.

Rather than following the action or RPG trends of the time, the game adopts a pure text-based adventure (AVG) format.
